PhD candidate Garrison Hommer will defend his thesis on March 20. Hommer’s thesis is entitled “Mechanism of Dwell Fatigue Crack Initiation in Ti-7Al Under Biaxial Tension-Tension Loads” and is the culmination of research funded by the Center for Advanced Non-Ferrous Structural Alloys (CANFSA). After graduating, Hommer’s goal is to find employment in the aerospace industry in the Denver metro area with an emphasis on mechanical design and materials selection and processing.
